Robot Fascination

robot (noun):

an intelligent machine

android (noun):

a robot that looks like and acts like a human

Humans have long had a fascination with robots — and especially robots that look similar to humans.

Both trying (and even succeeding) to build real robots, and in our fiction (including our sci-fi) imagining a world where (advanced) robots exist, and even are ubiquitous.

In fact, young children (especially young boys) often gain an obsession with robots and androids (after being exposed to them, in the form of cartoons, animations, videos, and toys).

4 of my son's favorite toys are Tobot (Korean transformer) toys — that we got him while we were visiting Korea. The are android robots that transform back-and-forth between their android humoid robot mode and some type of vehicle.
